Opensource EDA software development, some thoughts about the EDA/Semiconductor industry and Mixed-signal integrated circuit design

PCB Design

PCB’s DRC precision

Circular mil (cmils) is used for gerber (0.01 mil).  Hence, PCB’s DRC precision should be 0.000254 mm.

DRC should be able to get mil units right. It’s for mm that 0.000254 mm should be added to the DRC rule while exporting to gerber.

What are some references for making surface mount pads and footprints?
