Magic is an open source VLSI layout tool. It is the well thought-out core algorithms which lend to magic the greatest part of its popularity. Magic is among the easiest tool to use for circuit layout.
VLSI engineers will soon have Magic in Fedora Repositories to implement their clever ideas and stay abreast of fabrication technology. It is currently being reviewed.
IRSIM is a “not to miss” tool for simulating digital circuits when using Magic . It is a “switch-level” simulator; that is, it treats transistors as ideal switches. Extracted capacitance and lumped resistance values are used to make the switch a little bit more realistic than the ideal, using the RC time constants to predict the relative timing of events.
There is currently request to review the IRSIM package at the Fedora Project
Next to come will be the netgen package, which is a LVS netlist comparison tool:)

Really appreciate your work on packaging EDA tools.
I see that both Magic and IRSIM reviews have status closed and nextrelease now.
Does this mean that they will be available in the FC7 repos?
cheers!
Hey,
Your Blog rocks!! Just wanted to share something with ya… one blogger to another…
There is this amazing site that I came across where u can make money by sharing information…check it out here’s the link http://www.myndnet.com/login.jsp?referral=alpa83&channel=al610
The coolest part is…every time ur information gets sold u get paid for it!!
I signed it for it.. very cool stuff… u can also mail me at barot.alpa@gmail.com
